NFL 2025 season: Week six

Live coverage includes text commentary of the weekend matchups via multiple platforms, beginning with Denver Broncos v New York Jets in London (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Also, audio coverage is available on designated networks covering a separate game (beginning at 9 PM BST).

It's week six of the NFL season and after recent discussion regarding the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles as possible championship contenders, they both lost their perfect starts.

Notable during those contests were the number of penalties each committed. The Eagles did so at crucial times meaning they kind of defeated themselves after leading 17-3 entering the fourth period against the Denver Broncos, who play overseas this weekend.

But it was good to observe that Denver's QB the rookie was able to have the shortfall and then lead three scoring drives on three possessions during the final period, to win the game by four points.

Denver have the defensive player of the year in cornerback Pat Surtain II. They are number one in goal-line defense, whereas the Eagles are number one in red zone offence, yet Denver won that battle.

They executed effective strategies regarding simulated pressure. They did not necessarily rushing more than four pass rushers but they could position two LBs in the interior then drop them out and send a nickel off the edge.

Early on of the season, it was noted on a program how the Broncos might emerge as the current year's surprise contenders. They ended the previous year strongly and excelled in continuing that momentum.

Could Denver be this year's dark horses?

New tight end their tight end has stepped up big while recent running back their rusher is a player the team trusts. He's currently 5th league-wide in ground gains (402) as well as tied for fourth for rushing touchdowns (4).

I love how head coach the Broncos' leader displays "RUN IT!" at the top on his call sheet.

This demonstrates how Denver represent a team that wants to prioritize the run, since one can do a lot based on that approach. It slows opposing rushes and keeps you in favourable situations.

It's also benefited QB Bo Nix, who entered into the league as a first-round selection last year, passing for 29 touchdown passes – just behind Justin Herbert in rookie records (31 back in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert possess the arm strength to pass anywhere, but they lack the mobility that Nix has. He boasts incredible passing ability, a unique trait, and he's highly agile.

His assets include his mobility, the capacity to throw on the run, as well as finding different arm angles to deliver the pass as he moves out of the pocket, the bootlegs. He is able to throw precision throws across the middle or over the corner.

As a rookie QB, at 25, he's got a lot of composure under pressure and is not bothered by the blitz. He tries to evade a sack whenever possible and is able pass under pressure. He has a high football IQ and remains quick to decide.

When you consistently rush it consumes the clock and makes the opponent to be on the field for longer, and if you've got a mobile QB the defence has to defend the area downfield and horizontally. This proves exhausting.

Nix has pushed back with the coach on the sideline sometimes and it seems the coach appreciates that attitude, seeing him as a fierce rival. I think it's fun for him to have a rookie QB that is kind of like play-dough. The coach can really develop him the way he wants to shape him. I believe it's a special experience for the coach.

The head coach owns a championship and now surpassed Bill Parcells for career NFL wins (173, tying for 14th). He has witnessed it all. I think the achievements the Broncos are having offensively is mostly down to his guidance, his play-calling, his game sense – and the combination with the QB helps make him what he is.

You wouldn't want a better guy in your ear, to help you during difficult moments and build confidence.

I believe in the Broncos' defense, in the QB's grit and calm. But is the team good enough to face a top squad at full strength? Because that wasn't a Super Bowl performance by the Eagles last Sunday.

Currently, it's unlikely Denver are elite. They're performing better than most, which is a good place to hold their division. The key to do to continue this trajectory.

They're really good at leaning into their forte, which is the ground game, and this is exactly what they should do against the Jets in London. It's going to be a Dobbins-focused game, in essence.

The Jets have surrendered 140 yards on the ground each contest (sixth worst), five rushing touchdowns so far (in the bottom ten), and they are the only team without a win a game.

Since the NFL began tracking takeaways in 1933, this team are the first team to be without any turnovers in five outings, this is kind of shocking when you think that their new coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach at the Detroit Lions.

The Chiefs' QB says the Chiefs have 'already lost too many games' after a recent loss by the Jaguars.

After the upcoming matchup, Denver face a manageable slate until their break (in week 12) - the Giants, the Cowboys, the Texans plus the Raiders before the Chiefs.

In their division, the Chiefs are 2-3 while Denver are tied with the Chargers on 3-2 meaning they could challenge at leading the West.

It depends on what version of the Chiefs they face because the Broncos {beat|def
