The former Liverpool manager admits coming back to coach Liverpool is conceivable.

Jurgen Klopp, who stepped down from Anfield in 2024, has suggested that rejoining the club is something that could happen. Klopp, after a transformative nine-year spell featuring a European Cup triumph and the Premier League crown for three decades, currently occupies roles overseeing worldwide football with the Red Bull group and in an advisory capacity with the German Football League.

Fan Sentiment and Klopp’s Candid Remarks

They secured England's top flight last season, yet numerous supporters holding him in high esteem would embrace the idea that he might come back one day. During an extensive chat, he told his interviewer: “I stated I refuse to lead any other side in England. Therefore should it be the Reds...yeah. It's plausible.”

“At 58 years old, so the choice could be mine in a few years, it's uncertain. Do I have to make the decision today? Then I will not coach again. Luckily, it's not necessary. I'll simply watch what the future brings.”

What Would Lure Him Back?

Pressed on which situations would have to unfold to tempt his return to the touchline, he revealed he was not instantly drawn for a comeback. “I don’t even know exactly, I enjoy my current role,” he stated. “I don’t miss coaching; No desire to be during downpours for two-and-a-half or three hours; I'm glad to skip press conferences four times, three times a week or having 10-12 interviews weekly.

“I don’t miss the dressing room in that context, yet sharing a meal alongside the squad enjoying conversation, is pleasant. We won a lot of games meaning regularly great spirits in the building. I still have the captain's chuckle vividly recalled for example.”

Praise for His Successor

Klopp was full of praise of the current boss, praising him due to the changes that won the league in the previous season. They've been defeated four in a row across various tournaments following significant transfers, though he denied the idea of it representing a decline.

“[Liverpool have] a top-class attacker in Flo[rian] Wirtz, critics will regret if spoken against. A remarkable prospect. [Hugo] Ekitike, incredible player. They have a strong well-judged squad. No need for concern regarding the Reds, they'll bounce back.”

Emotional Tribute for the Late Forward

Klopp also spoke emotionally about the death of Jota, a 2020 acquisition in 2020, and the effect on Liverpool. Jota was killed in a road accident alongside his brother this past summer.

“How do you replace somebody like Diogo? This isn't just regarding the player himself, it's his character. It's hard to picture the squad missing him. Putting it into words is tough regarding this. A profound tragedy for all the boys as well. Not a single person might employ it to justify results though it's a fact. Being in that space which he filled completely. Handling this emotionally is difficult. Impossible.”
