Paceman Gus Atkinson Adds to the English team's Injury Worries.

'Major setback' for the touring side after Atkinson goes off suffering a hamstring problem.

The pace bowler added to the injury concerns plaguing England upon exiting the playing area on the second morning in the Melbourne Test versus the Australians.

The pace bowler pulled up with his left leg post-delivery in his spell on Saturday.

The England team stated the 27-year-old had experienced "tightness" and would spend time on the sidelines to undergo evaluation "during the day".

The final Test of the series in Sydney starts on Sunday, 4 January.

The visitors have already lost fast bowlers Mark Wood due to knee trouble and another paceman to a side strain during this series.

A replacement bowler was added to the party as cover for Wood.

The seamer had a tough time in the opening two Tests, managing only three wickets.

He was left out of the third Test, before being recalled for the fourth Test to fill the void.

Atkinson improved at the MCG, taking two wickets during the host's first knock, and scoring 28 runs as a batsman among just a trio of teammates to reach double figures.

After bowling one over late on the first day, he came back for the second day's play and dismissed the nightwatchman edging to the keeper.

However, at the end of that over, he bowled a slower ball to Travis Head and promptly felt for his hamstring.

Atkinson was brought back for the Boxing Day Test having missed of the third.
