The UK is set to progress with employing the total value of seized Russia's holdings to bolster Ukraine's military campaign, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a shared declaration, the leaders of the UK, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany emphasized that this coordinated action would escalate tension on Russia's leader Vladimir Putin and compel the Russian Federation to come to the table.

They clarified that the initiative would be implemented in strong partnership with the America.

United Kingdom sanctions have immobilized over £25bn of Russia's funds since the Russian government launched its comprehensive attack against Ukraine in 2022. However, up to this point, funds provided to Ukraine using Russia's holdings had exclusively been drawn from gains and dividends earned on them.

Sir Keir assured Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the UK, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany were in agreement in their desire to push forward toward employing the total worth of the frozen Moscow's national assets to conclude the conflict.

He noted that more sanctions soon would apply more pressure on Russia.

This declaration is subsequent to European representatives met in Copenhagen last week to discuss utilizing frozen Russian funds for a €140bn credit to Ukraine.
