Beloved Star Pat Finn, Known For Roles in Friends and The Middle, Passes Away at Age 60.
Stateside performer Finn, who was seen in iconic TV shows such as Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away at the age of 60.
The comedic improv actor passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California on Monday after undergoing treatment for cancer beginning in 2022, according to media reports.
"Pat considered no one a stranger - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his loved ones stated in a message.
They noted that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with happiness and energy".
A Prolific Television Career
Finn's first television role was in the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he played the brother of the main character.
He also had a recurring role on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.
He played the part of the character Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, playing a social organizer who would assign unpleasant chores to his guests.
In the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on a variety of well-known programs, like:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House, M.D.
He was most recognized for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight seasons between 2011 and 2018.
His cinematic roles include It's Complicated (2009) and "Santa Paws 2".
Beyond the Screen
Away from his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was part of a comedy group of six called "Beer Shark Mice".
"Pat coached, befriended and mentored countless students over the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find a person anywhere who has a bad thing to say about him," his relatives stated.
In a tribute, peer Richard Kind noted there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote publicly.
The actor is leaves behind his partner Donna, his children, and his family.
