In a surprising crossover event that challenges traditional predictions, Ubisoft has revealed an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering complimentary extra story content for Shadows players.

Strange Adventure Revealed

According to the formal statement, "A mysterious meeting pulls heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh adventure, where whispers of forbidden rituals and fearsome changes echo through the darkness." The storyline introduces a "unusually attired woman named Ada" who tasks the duo with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a clandestine cult.

The mission concentrates on "bizarre experiments and a terrifying foe" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Familiar Places and Transformations

The teaser features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview finishes with a powerful sequence showing a character, probably the hostage, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Prizes and Bonus Material

Players who successfully complete the quest will receive an unique katana alongside numerous artifacts hidden throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains premium Attack on Titan item packs, offering:

Newest Free Story Update

This update also introduces the game's newest free story episode, titled "The Mystery." This playful adventure partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap distinctive techniques: Naoe debuts a performative version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-lethal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "A Puzzlement" also includes a new environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some lingering questions from the main storyline.

This marks not the first time the Assassin's Creed franchise has partnered with well-known anime series. The series previously included a 2020 crossover story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Furthermore, Valhalla informally featured a quest that unmistakably echoed the famous series One-Punch Man.
